Aramasa Shuzo
Akita Prefecture
Aramasa has a long history in sake and is most famous for developing the yeast strain #6 in 1935. The yeast strain is still used today by many breweries throughout Japan for its strong and consistent fermentation. They are a natural sake brewer that uses ancient brewing and regional techniques to create very characterful and playful sakes that can be detected even in blind tastings.
Aramasa has a large cult following of sake enthusiasts but due to its small production, the sakes are difficult to find even in Japan. Our current collection of Aramasa is very limited and can only be purchased exclusively by gastronomy businesses. You may find them in bars and restaurants around Berlin such as Shiori or enjoy a glass at our SUI SUI bar. For businesses interested in adding Aramasa to their menu, please contact us to inquire.
